Find waterfall Pego do Inferno

From Taste Tavira it only takes ten minutes by car to reach the parkinglot, but then the adventurous part begins. A good pair of legs, good shoes and some sense of direction help to find the Pego do Inferno Waterfall. We visited the spot mid summer last year and now in early February. Both times it turned out to be a nice scavenger hunt.

Except for the parking, there are no signs. So choose one of the small paths through the trees and bushes while walking down. And start all over when it turns out to be a dead end.

Tip: start at the lower path under the tree and get one level lower when you can. The splashing of the waterfall might guide you, if there is any. Which is not the case in times of drought. The pond itself is of a beautiful applegreen colour and is rather small. But big enough to swim in or refresh yourself after your effort to find it. Pego do Inferno is nice to explore with (not too young) children.
